Racism Politics And Twitter

Last night, about midnight to be fair I decided to have a little look at Twitter before I went to bed. I follow a wide variety of interesting folk and usually get a smile or two browsing through my timeline, last night though there were many tweets venting their disgust at a comment Diane Abbott MP had left earlier that day. Well I wasn't going to bed without having a look now was I, so off to Diane's profile I went to take a look at what the offending article may be. What I saw quite frankly shocked me, a senior politician spouting racism on Twitter! I had to respond with immediate effect, so I replied with "  ! Fucked up there dear!  ". within less than 5 minutes I was blocked, exactly the same as Ed Balls, no sense of humour. But someone tell me please how anyone can advance so far in politics and be so stupid, this lady ran for leader of the Labour party. I think main stream political parties are seriously going to have to have a look at how this new age of media should be used, this is pretty damaging stuff and has without doubt damaged the party in the short term. It has yet again made Ed Miliband look weak whilst gifting the Tories with even more ammunition.
